A floating pool in Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot
A floating pool made from modular floating cubes has just been installed on the banks of the Lot. It is set to be used by many bathers this summer and summers to come.
A floating pool has just been created in Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot. Along the Esplanade Saint-Martin, it will now be possible to swim in the River Lot in total safety in a 100 m² pool with 1.4 m depth throughout the summer. The project was launched by Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot City Council, which wanted to provide its inhabitants with a safe, supervised swimming area.
A modular pool that can be disassembled
The pool is made from a series of polyethylene floating cubes. These cubes, once assembled, create platforms of varying shapes and sizes. The pool is divided into two interdependent parts:
- the beach, which is the visible part, is bordered by polyethylene railing and perimeter net. It is also equipped with two swim ladders to make it easier for bathers to get out of the water;
- the bottom of the pool has been sunk to a depth of 1.4 m and is secured with galvanised steel tubes. It is also bordered by nets to only let in river water.
Once the summer season is over, the pool will be disassembled and stored during the year. It can then be easily reinstalled next year. The modular nature of the product means it can be modified or expanded if necessary.
