Swimming in Papaïchton

SunnyDock

This summer, all eyes were on Paris and its swimming revival on the Seine—but in French Guiana, a remarkable project took shape on the Maroni River in the remote town of Papaïchton. Using SunnyDock floating modules, the municipality built a dedicated swimming training platform right on the river.

This floating installation was designed to:

  • Overcome the logistical challenge (Papaïchton is only accessible by canoe via the river)

  • Withstand the humid and unpredictable river environment

  • Provide a safe learning area for children and residents

Transported entirely by canoe, the SunnyDock equipment was assembled by our local representative on-site. The modular nature of the structure allows easy expansion or dismantling as needs evolve.
